It provides comprehensive data to assess changes in the growth, composition, and structure of the organized manufacturing sector including manufacturing processes, repair services, gas and water supply, and cold storage.

Geographical Coverage
Covers the entire country. In Himachal Pradesh, all districts are covered except Lahaul & Spiti due to absence of eligible factories.
Reference Period
The reference period is the financial year (April to March) for all items.
Survey Period
Conducted from October to May in the year following the reference period.
